You can find a combined photo of an Irish 1 Pound note dated 1939 here.
This 1 Pound note dated the 3rd. of March 1939 was issued by the Munster & Leinster Bank Limited.
This note is from a series that are commonly known as 'Ploughman Notes',because of its design on the front - 2 horses drawing a plough,& being steered by a farmer.
At the time that this note was issued,Ireland was a Dominion of the British Commonwealth.Unusually,Ireland had King George VI as King of Ireland, but instead of a Governor-General (whose position was abolished in late 1936),there was a President instead, who was Douglas Hyde (who was President of Ireland from 1938 until his retirement in 1945).This very unusual arrangement was formalised under the terms of the External Relations Act,1936.
