Check out the photos of these 2 notes;

Gibraltar 1954 10 Shillings.

Isle of Man 1956 1 Pound.

They came from a postal auction over here.

Please let me know what you think.

Hard to know what to think without documentation.  I mean the notes are nice, but that fold on the Manx is nicer.  So? ...  Let me get a book.  Gibraltar, VG, $5...  Isle of Man: Good $20.  Nice catch!

With the Isle of Man, what is the motto around the triskeles?

Nice coin.  Truly rare, I gather and one of your own, not picked off Google Images.  Very nice.

quocunque ieceris stabit

"wherever it is thrown it will stand."

I get it.  The lettering on the note threw me.  I read it "OUOCUOUE ... " and the ieceris started with a J.  I thought it was Manx.

Also... interestingly enough... Searching for the motto (in Latin, thanks to your coin), I found this site:  ko.wikipedia.org/wiki/bar:Insl%20vo%20Man  And the summary said:
Woispruch: „Quocunque Ieceris Stabit“ lat., „Wos dus aa hinhaust, es wead stehn“.

So, I knew that KO was not Korean and Kobenhavn was not going to solve the puzzle.
It was German(ic) clearly enough...  so I clicked on it...  and got redirected to the BOARS.  I thought?  South Afrika? ... but no...

Austrians.
They just spell it the way it sounds.

Interesting notes-they strike me as being somewhat similar, and I can see that they were printed by the same company.

I actually like the design of the Gibraltar note slightly more.

Check out this note - a 1999 5 Pounds from Ulster (Northern Ireland),which was put out to mark the Millennium changeover from 1999 to 2000.

This note has the historic distinction of being the only British polymer plastic note.

I bought it 2 weeks ago at a coin fair.

Photos are up on http://www.allnumis.com & Facebook.

Other notes I bought at the same coin fair have got photos uploaded onto http://www.banknotebank.com/collection/BCNumismatics as well.

Please let me know what you think.

Check out these 2 Indian 10 Rupees notes.

They are from the 1949-57 issue under Governor Sir Benegal Rama Rau.

Photos are up on http://www.banknotebank.com/collection/BCNumismatics .

Yes,they are a consecutively numbered pair,& they have the incorrect Hindi inscription.
