Post your photos of boats and ships, or anything nautical
« on: September 24, 2010, 06:01:12 PM »

Do you like boats?  Got any pics to share here?

I'll start with a photo I scanned today from a 26-year old negative.
My negatives are 54x70mm.  I used a Pentax 6x7 for most images back then.

This destroyer was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1990.
The last I heard she was in inactive ship storage in Philadelphia.
A few museums are seeking to have her displayed in their facilities.

Some of the boats I photographed back then are no longer afloat, after decommissioning.
Time flies.

I have collected U.S coins for many years, and then Civil War Tokens, but am now actively building a collection of Conder Tokens,
the coins that made the Industrial Revolution a whopping success. : )
